My love for pass-along plants

peony

Years ago I gave my mom this book for Mother’s Day after I had been introduced to it during a discussion with a friend about pass-along plants. I immediately wanted to take up this hobby of collecting plants from friends and family getting bulbs here and there as we traveled to see family in faraway places, what a really neat thing to do {and a great way to save $}. Some of my plants have made it over the years, some are still in the delicate stages. This year my mom’s peony will bloom for the first time, and as the lily of the valley start peeking through the soil, I think about my husband’s grandmother.

Thank you to all who have graciously passed along plants to me and hopefully when mine begin to multiply, I can dig some of them up and follow in line with you all. What a great metaphor to live by! Hear! hear!

time for an update

Rosemary - 5 months

Please excuse the long wait . . . we've been busy and I needed to step away and tend to our family and so it became harder and harder to break away and download my camera and write. But I feel the time has come to update everyone on how we're doing and how I'm doing.

Rosemary - 5 months

I have to say that I'm very happy these days. I have found a renewed peace, and I am truly in love with this little girl - I mean look at those cheeks!!! Rosemary is grasping toys, smiling, coo-ing and starting to be able to hold up her head a little. She is right on track for her verbal milestones, but a few months behind on her motor milestones given her challenges. From talking to many doctors in the past few weeks, it looks like we're up against another surgery in the next month to decompress her Chiari. It's another major surgery, but inevitable. We still take it one day at a time and make the most of our days and enjoy each sweet little smile we get from her. Thank you for coming back so often to check on us . . . and I hope each of you has a Happy Valentine's Day!!

She totally energizes me!

Monday, a week ago, Lena came home from school talking about her journal writing she had that day. She had written "I want to make the Earth a better place." So I seized the opportunity to take it a little farther and asked her if she would make recycling bags for our family.

She spent the afternoon writing, cutting, taping, and sorting. I had felt tired from my morning, but after her project was finished, I was inspired. She totally energizes me!!!

happy new year!

Twenty-ten, oh sounds so fresh and new doesn't it? I'm hoping and expecting great things from this year.

French Toast

Our family started off the year this morning with a yummy french toast recipe that I only pull out for special occasions. It certainly did brighten up the spirits of everyone around the table this morning.

May 2010 bring you life, abundance, love, creativity, and lots of joy and laughter!
